Inkheart 2009

Inkheart originally was scheduled for release in March 2008, but a series of coincidences pushed it on to the 2009 movies schedule. Now for new movie release in January 2009, Inheart is a film adaptation of the best-selling children's book of the same name by Cornelia Funke.

In the Inheart 2009 movie, a young girl Meggie and her father have the power to bring characters from books to life by reading the books out loud. They bring Dorothy's dog Toto to life, and other less savory items, like an evil villain named Capricorn from a medievel children's fable aptly called "Inheart" he is reading his daughter - the one book the father never should have read. The villain revels in his evil ways and kidnaps Dad, and others, with the assistance of some others from the fable.

His daughter bands with a group of friends both real and imagined to bring Dad home and restore order in the real world.
