This list has the Top 10 most anticipated movies of 2009. What does that mean? The top most anticipated new movies are the new movies getting the greatest advance buzz, that movie and film fans are most excited about before release in theaters in 2009. They may not turn out to be the best movies in 2009 or the biggest hits of 2009, but the top 10 most anticipated movies skew towards the big movie franchises, movie sequels and best-selling book adaptations. After all, these are the new films that are most familiar to movie audiences because of the success of their predecessor blockbusters. A movie franchise gets created after a top hit, the goal being to capture the luster of previous box office success. However, we have tried to find the new productions that also are generating or will have excitement coming soon.
