The screenplay was written by David Roth, who also wrote Forrest Gump.

Brad Pitt's Benjamin Button, is born as a withered old man and then goes through life aging in reverse until he becomes a baby, with amazing and bizarre consequences on the way. He lives a full life, in school, in college, at war and in love and as a father. Blanchett plays his love. He, and she, then must come to terms with the unusual relationship as they grow literally in opposite directions.
